Both single malt and blended malt whiskeys are bottled under the Muckle Flugga brand. The barrels used for this are shipped to Unst near Muckle Flugga lighthouse in the Shetland Islands and exposed to the local climate for a further year. Only then do the barrels return to the mainland for bottling.
Muckle Flugga Over Wintered in Shetland matured in ex-sherry casks for an undefined period. Bottled at a mild 40% ABV. Alcohol, without dye.
Aroma: Fruity with sweet honey, a hint of sherry, earthy smokiness with barley malt.
Palate: Sweet with some caramel, roasted grains and pears, milk chocolate and liquorice.
